Dr. Karavasili graduated from the School of Pharmacy at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.TH.), where she earned her M.Pharm and PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology. She began her postdoctoral research at A.U.TH. in 2019, later joining the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a postdoctoral researcher from 2021 to 2024. She is a recipient of doctoral research scholarships from the Fulbright foundation (Harvard medical School, MIT) and the Onassis foundation (A.U.TH.). She recently joined the School of Pharmacy (A.U.TH.) as Assistant Professor at the division of Pharmaceutical Technology.

Zisis got his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2023, and he also got his professional license in 2024 while working for two years as a research associate at the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology in AUTH, focusing on projects on different techniques, like 3D Printing and Electrospinning. As a current PhD student in Pharmaceutical Technology at AUTH, he is working on the development of functional biomaterials for tissue repair in neurosurgery.

Marina got her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2022. She specialized in cosmetic chemistry and nanotechnology through both industrial and academic experience, which sparked a strong interest in the delivery of active ingredients and bioactive compounds to the human body. This interest led to her enrollment in the Industrial Pharmacy master’s program and especially the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology in AUTH. Currently, she is engaged in research focused on intravesical drug delivery systems.

Giorgos earned his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in July 2024 and obtained his professional license in 2025. During his undergraduate studies, as a research associate, his work primarily focused on advanced tableting techniques.
As part of the Erasmus+ mobility program, he joined the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Spain, contributing to research projects on the formulation of aerogels for pharmaceutical applications.
He is currently pursuing an MSc in Pharmaceutical Technology at AUTH. His postgraduate research centers on the development and characterization of a sprayable in situ gelling ocular formulation, with the aim of enhancing precorneal retention and improving the bioavailability of the active pharmaceutical ingredient.
Athina Avramidou

Athina earned her Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of the Aegean. During her bachelor thesis, she focused on the development of zinc oxide nanoparticles derived from olive milk waste. She gained professional experience working in the quality control department of a food manufacturing company. Currently, as a master’s student in the Pharmaceutical Technology program at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, she is conducting research focused on the development of pediatric formulations based on plant-derived milks.
Rebecca Tsaggari

Rebecca got her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2023. She specialized in Chemical Synthesis, Biochemistry and Bioapplications. During her bachelor thesis, she focused on the synthesis and study of the structural and spectroscopic properties of luminescent tetranuclear copper(I) cluster complexes with heterocyclic thioamide ligands. She, also, completed her internship at Institute of Applied Biosciences, INAB-CERTH. Currently, as a master’s student in the Industrial Pharmacy program at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, she is engaged in research focused on the development of personalized pediatric dosage forms using dairy-based milk as primary excipient.
